Smoothies, sauces, dressings are best made into a perfectly creamy texture. If you don't already own one, you MUST get a super powered blender like BLENDTEC, for all your own kitchen-creatables, and experimentables. Here is what is coming to dinner at my place me:
Salad, organic baby spinach, romaine greens. Grilled asparagus, etc, with a delicious dressing, which can be used with the salad, or, as sauce, for the asparagus, and other veggies. If you wish to add grilled meats, the sauce will go even longer way for you. I have not tried to warm this up, but would love to know how it is, if anyone decides to get spontaneous ;) Here is the dresser-sauce, I hope you love it:
Imitation Honey-Dijon (but much better)
- 1/4 cup raw apple cider vinegar, measure little at a time, for taste, may need more, or less
- 1/4 cup raw honey, I used blueberry honey
- 1/4 cup flaxseed oil
- 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1 Tbsp Dijon mustard, I used spicy
- 1 clove garlic, minced, optional
- 2 tsp dry mustard, optional
- Sea salt, and fresh-ground black pepper to taste
Place all dresser-sauce ingredients in your BLENDTEC, blend until it is super creamy. If you prefer texture, give it a few tiny spins in the blender to retain the bulk in the ingredients.
Make a 'bed' with the spinach in a bowl, place tossed grilled asparagus etc, pour dresser-sauce over. Add a whirl of honey and fresh black pepper on top to garnish. Enjoy !!!!
